Businesses spend vast sums of money promoting themselves to their potential and current customers. With this in mind, it is only natural to expect the first step and impression a customer gets when entering a business establishment will leave a lasting impression. Logo mats at the entrance not only welcome your customers with your company identity but also serve as maintenance tools for your business.

Logo mats are available in a large variety of types, sizes and materials. Often environmental factors such as indoors versus outdoors and whether the logo mat will be on carpeting or a hard surface floor will determine the type of selection.

Generally their are four types of indoor logo mats available:

1. Tufted - using this process your image is inputted into a computer that controls tufting machines that weave the carpeting.  The computer picks and chooses the colors of yarn require to weave the logo design.  The backing rubber, vinyl, etc. is added in the last process.

2. Jet Print - using this process your image is inputted into a computer that controls spray jets that are spraying on white tufted pieces of carpeting without any backing.  The sprayed carpeting is then run through a heat set oven to make the color permanent.  The backing rubber, vinyl, etc. is added in the last process.  Using this process the carpeting pile is fairly low however the detail is quite good especially for complex designs on small mats.

3.  Onlay/Inlay - using this process the different colors of the logo are cut from different color carpet (without backing).  The pieces are then assembled to match the logo on rubber on a giant plate.  The plate is then move into a heat press that embeds the bottom of the carpet into the rubber.  (This process is also used somewhat for all rubber logo mats)

4.  Flocked - Using this process a screen is constructed for each color in the logo.  Using an already dyed and constructed mat with backing the screens are placed one at a time on the mat covered with glue then sent through a special oven.  The oven using static electricity injects small colored fibers into the adhesive.  The mat them moves into the heating area where the adhesive is set.  This process is done for each color in the logo.  The main trouble with this process is the logo may wear/peel off over time.

Logo mats are available in a large variety of types, sizes and materials. Often environmental factors such as indoor versus outdoors and whether the logo mat will be on carpeting or a hard surface floor will determine the type of selection.  Also, the detail of the logo can dictate which type of mat should be used.  As far as quality the only one we would characterize as suspect is the Flocking process.
